About Me

I have been obsessed with the Rockies since attending the very first game at Mile High. Having anticipated the normal amount of traffic and waiting for a Broncos game, we arrived late, and were at field level (going to our seats) when Eric Young came to bat. I can remember hearing the crack of the bat on the ball, and the ball carrying, carrying, and carrying all the way into the stands. As I dropped my homemade sign ("Neid for Speed", I know, pretty clever), the place went absolutely nuts, and that's when I knew that I was hooked.

From that moment on, the Rockies would always be a part of me. They would be there every summer; they are there through the good times and bad. I make it a tradition to have my birthday at Coors Field (or as near as possible), a tradition that continues today.

I will always be a Rockies fan because they will always have the magical moments like the "First Pitch Home Run" described above, or my other personal favorite, when on Opening Day 2005 they rallied against Trevor Hoffman and won on a Clint Barmes home run (which I watched from the upper deck).

I may not always live in Colorado, but a part of me will always be in the park at 20th and Blake.

Go Rockies!
