About Me

I bleed purple and black

Back when we didn't have a team - I was a fan. I grew up in Chicago and like others, had no other team to follow the first 10 years I lived here. When MLB announced we might have a shot I became a cheerleader to everyone I know to get a team here - this was before email - so it was all word of mouth.

My freinds thought I was insane. When it was announced we were getting a team - I entereed the contests to name the team - draw the logo - you name it, I was involved at a fan level.

I couldn't make opening day of that first game - but I was close enough to hear the roar of the crowwd when Eric Young hit the first home run. The first game I attended was called for snow (around April 11, 1983) - We used to go and talk to Dante Bichette out in right during warmup (the old south stands) - nothing was better than actually being at a game and talking to a major league player.

I've managed to make opening day the last 6 years and probably a total of 10 opening days so far - plus as many games as i could afford - now taking my 2 kids (which leaves me with a dilemma if I only win 2 tix) and they love the rockies too.

Regardless of who you pick - nothing says FAN more than knowing that so many of us who got left at the altar for tickets still have a chance.

Go rockies - WIN 3 at home and go back and Close down Fenway on Halloween - Scary thought............woooooooooo
